- Now you can start draining the fuel into a previously prepared container.

In this method, it is important to carefully monitor the process. If bubbles appear in the fuel draining, everything must be stopped and the ignition turned off. If this is not done, then it is possible to disable the fuel pump of the donor car.

Next, we return the clamp and hoses to the place. We also install a relay in the socket, close the gas tank plug.

1. Carburetor engine

If you need a small amount of gasoline, such as half a liter or a liter and you have a carburetor engine, you can do the following. Start the engine, let it run a little. Open the hood and find the carburetor. Usually it is located approximately in the middle of the engine compartment and is mounted on the intake manifold.

Find the fuel supply hose, it should go visually from under the vehicle’s underbody and fixed along the body, then put on the carburetor fuel supply fitting. We will need him. Do not confuse with other hoses, because one of the other hoses is the selection of crankcase gases. Look where they are going, so as not to be mistaken.

Usually the hose is put on and removed with a simple movement without effort. But it may turn out that it is reinforced with a clamp. In this case, loosen the clamp with a screwdriver. Substitute the tank and enjoy the process:

Having prepared a container for gasoline (for example, a plastic bottle), without stopping the engine, disconnect this hose from the carburetor. Gasoline should pour out of it. Substitute the container and enjoy the process. Periodically connect the hose back to the carburetor to fill it with a supply of gasoline and the engine will not stall. Repeat these procedures until the required amount of gasoline is collected in the tank.

Gasoline, which is in the chambers of the carburetor, will not allow the engine to stall, so the engine will work for a while at idle. The gas pump, if located in the tank, will also work, so gas will flow out of the hose in a small trickle, which is what we need.

Be careful not to let escaping gasoline get on the hot parts of the engine and exhaust manifold, otherwise it may result in a fire. It is most convenient to do this together - one is sitting in the driver's seat with the door open, the second is draining gasoline and, in which case, gives a command to turn off or start the engine.

After this procedure, put the hose back in place and tighten the clamp (if it was there). When you start the engine, you will likely have to twist the starter for longer so that the gas can fill all the carburetor channels and get into the ignition system. Also, do not be surprised if the engine will work unstable at first and even stall - it will pass. He just needs to work out until the gasoline level in the system recovers.

This method is good for domestic carburetor cars.. On most foreign cars, it can be unsuccessful if, for example, the electronics detect depressurization and block the fuel supply, or if the necessary pressure in the fuel system is not created to run out of gasoline. 2. Through the neck of the tank with a hose

Everyone knows the way. Only a hose is needed, the desired length is about a meter. One end of the hose is lowered into the tank so that it is immersed in gasoline. To determine how deep it needs to be lowered into the tank, you can follow the traces of gasoline. Lowering it every time deeper, we get out and see if the end is wet. When we see that the end of the hose is wet in gasoline, lower it to the same depth + 20-30 cm.

We substitute a tank for gasoline and blow air into ourselves from the second end of the hose. In order for gas to flow, you need to create a vacuum in the hose. Be careful not to get gas in your mouth. To do this, when inhaling, make the distance between the lips to a minimum, and also perform in several passes until gasoline pours.

It is very important that the end of the hose is lower than the filler neck of the tank. Otherwise, nothing will come out of the laws of physics. As soon as the necessary vacuum is created in the hose, gasoline will begin to flow into the area of ​​lower pressure.

When he reaches the filler neck vertically through the hose, he will go through it and flow down to the other end of the hose where you hold the container. Specialized hoses for pumping liquids are sold at car dealerships. In order not to have to suck in air through the mouth, there is a special extension on these hoses in the middle, in which the valves are located. In this case, it is possible to create the pressure necessary for pumping by pressing the pear with your hands. Convenient and practical.

3. Complete discharge of gasoline from the tank

If you need to remove low-quality gasoline or foreign liquid from the tank, then only a complete drain will help. The features of this procedure depend on the model of your car.

Having arrived at the inspection hole or overpass, inspect the lower part of the tank, if it is located in the luggage compartment. If you are lucky, you will find a drain plug that is unscrewed with a key. When you unscrew it, be prepared for the fact that gasoline will run from there in large quantities. The cork can then be removed from the tank with gasoline, if it falls there, using a magnet. Make sure that the volume of the tank is enough to completely drain all gasoline from the tank. If necessary, prepare several containers so that they can be substituted if one is filled.

If there is no drain plug on the bottom, then you probably have a different gas tank location or its design does not include a drain. Perhaps the tank is located at the wing. In any case, it is better to first look at the car's operating instructions, there this procedure will be described specifically for your model.

Drain with removal of the fuel pump:

It is also possible that in your car model, to empty the tank, you need to remove the gas pump. On some models, it is located behind the rear seats. That is, first you will need to remove the backs of the rear seats and get to the pump, then unscrew it. I do not advise doing this without the necessary experience, because in this case gasoline can get into the cabin, it is unpleasant and can damage sensitive seat materials or trim.

And one more way - if you have a special valve or cap for draining in the fuel system, you can put on it a hose leading to the tank, then forcibly turn on the gas pump. You can force it on by supplying it with battery power. Usually, a jumper installed correctly in place of the fuel pump relay and ignition is sufficient.

Just keep in mind that for modern cars of recent years, in which electronics monitor everything, interference in the system can cause errors that can only be reset at the service center.

In order to drain gasoline from the tank of a foreign car, you need to perform a few simple steps:

  1. Open the hood of your car
  2. With the engine turned off, disconnect the fuel hose (coming from the gasoline pump) at the point where it is connected to the engine.
  3. Place the loose end of the hose in a suitable container to drain the gas from the tank (bottle, canister, etc.).
  4. Turn on the ignition of the car, but DO NOT START THE ENGINE! In this case, the gas pump will turn on for a few seconds and pump fuel. Thus, turning the ignition on and off several times, you can drain a sufficient amount of gasoline from the fuel tank.

Keep in mind that it is better not to drain all gasoline from the tank in this way, so as not to damage the fuel pump and not to air the fuel system of the machine.
